The Chubu Children's Fund
Founded in 2016 by the ACCJ Chubu Chapter, the Chubu Children's Fund (CCF) was created to empower, educate, and inspire children living in foster homes throughout the Chubu region. Our mission is to provide the resources and opportunities these young adults need to thrive as they transition into independent life.
The Catalyst Program is CCF’s initiative, designed to support orphanage graduates step by step, from education to employment.
Catalyst Program - a 4-Step Journey of Support
Each year, CCF selects five exceptional candidates from 16 local foster homes in Nagoya. These students are not chosen based on grades alone, but on their drive, character, and desire to grow. Once selected, they are enrolled into the Catalyst Program, which supports them through four key stages:

Scholarship Program
The Chubu Children's Fund provides scholarships to eligible students who are ready to leave the foster home and pursue higher education. Each scholarship helps cover essential costs such as tuition, books, and living expenses, giving students the support they need to take their first steps toward a confident, independent future.
Mentoring and Support
What makes CCF different is our commitment to personal, ongoing support. We don’t just offer scholarships - we build lasting relationships. Our leadership team takes the time to regularly connect with both current and past recipients, ensuring they have the guidance and encouragement needed to navigate life after foster care.
We host bi-monthly group meetups each year, giving students a chance to share their experiences, receive advice, and stay connected with the CCF community.
Beyond these events, we also provide one-on-one check-ins and establish dedicated communication channels, so students can easily reach out when they need help, advice, or simply someone to talk to.
Through these regular touchpoints, we create a true support network - one that stays with students well beyond their time in school.
Technology Assistance
A sound base of computer and technology skills is essential to both employability and everyday life. With the support of our partner YouWeMe, we provide students with the tools and technology they need to succeed, including laptops and essential software. Hands-on training and onboarding are included, ensuring every student can confidently use technology to support their education and career development.
Internships and Job Opportunities
The final stage of the Catalyst Program connects students with internships, and job opportunities through our network of local businesses and partners.
This hands-on experience helps bridge the gap between education and employment, giving students a strong start toward long-term career success.
Why It Matters
The CCF Catalyst Program goes beyond financial aid. It is a comprehensive, long-term support system that stays with students from the day they leave the foster home through their journey into adulthood and beyond.
