Organizing the Youth Volunteers for a Decade

The Chubu Walkathon would not be possible without a legion of dedicated volunteers. One extremely helpful segment of the community is youth volunteers. Kids, teens, and college students all help out with various tasks to ensure the smooth running of the Walkathon.

Iain Gallacher (the Big Tanto, if you will) and Trent Whalen have been teaming up to organize the youth volunteers for what will be the 10th year at the 28th Walkathon in 2019. Clearly, these two crazy Canadian Maritimers make a great team!

According to Mr. Gallacher,

"I can occasionally be a grumpy bear but Trent knows how to calm the waters and keep things all copacetic."

But, either way, we are forever grateful to these two gentlemen for their long-time, dedicated effort to the Chubu Walkathon!

Both are educators by profession:

Iain Gallacher is a University Lecturer with Nagoya University of Foreign Studies
Trent Whalen is a teacher at Clark Memorial International High School.
