Five Reasons to Buy a Walkathon T-Shirt

May 4, 2020

The Chubu Walkathon - International Charity Festival has a proud, 29-year tradition of raising money in support of local charities. We are also very proud of the tradition of the Official Walkathon T-Shirt featuring artwork by local students, with the winning design chosen annually in a contest.

Everybody Wins!

The Walkathon is truly the community working as a community for the community. It brings together large corporations, SME's, as well as mom & pops as both sponsors and organizers. It involves a legion of student volunteers. We support local businesses, such as the food vendors, and they support us back. We have showcased local talent, whose participation enhances the draw of the event.

The T-Shirts, usually included with your entry tickets, are a popular item with some people amassing quite a collection. And, though there is no gathering in the park (darn you, COVID-19!), you can still attend the virtual event, and just as importantly...you can still get your 29th Annual Chubu Walkathon T-Shirt.

Here are 5 reasons to get your 2020 Walkathon T-Shirt:

1. Local charities need your support

Times are tough for all of us, but our being on lock-down doesn't change the fact that many worthy charitable organizations still rely on funding to continue their work. In fact, they need us now, more than ever. Net proceeds of T-Shirt sales go to helping these local organizations.

2. Keep your collection going

While you may never catch up to the likes of Iain Gallacher, it's never too late to start building your own collection. Who knows? They may be worth a fortune someday.

3. It helps us promote the event

Wearing your T-Shirt helps spread the brand, not only this year, but for years to come. And, if you really want to help with this, be sure to take a picture of yourself wearing your T-Shirt, and post it on Social Media to really get the word out. With our shirt, and your persona...it's bound to go viral :-)

4. It supports local business

Walkathon T-Shirts are printed locally. MB Prints always gives us a great deal for, what amounts to, a large order of shirts. Well, with no physical event, this year won't see such a large order. As a local business that relies on event orders, 2020 is not shaping up so greatly. Ordering T-Shirts will help to keep their staff employed, in addition to supporting the charities.

5. You will look stylin'

Oh yeah, you will be the envy of your friends. So, feel free to buy T-Shirts for them too!

How much are they and how do we get 'em?

T-Shirts are sold for ¥3,500 each. This includes free shipping to anywhere in Japan. We are able to ship overseas as well, for a small international shipping fee.

You can order them from our website and pay (securely) with your credit card.

You can also combine your T-Shirt purchase with a straight donation, or just make a donation.

Every little bit helps and will be greatly appreciated.
